Our letter to person consider adoption

Linda, Jim and Jameson Hernandez-Walker

Dear Birth Parents,
First of all, we would like to commend you for considering adoption. We respect you for your courage in making such a difficult yet loving decision for your child. Please take comfort in knowing that we promise to love your child unconditionally and forever. Openness in adoption is wonderful. We believe that sharing information between families will be very beneficial to your child.

Our names are Linda, James (Jim), and Jameson – we have been married for seven years and our passion is our family.  We also feel we need to include our dogs Skyebird and Nacho and our cat Alice in our family list because they are such a big part of our lives. We have come to adoption after three years of infertility and a loss. We feel that adoption would be a wonderful way to complete our family and allow us to continue the amazing experience of parenting that we love so much. Our son Jameson is such an amazing child.  He is joyful, smart, confident, and interacts very well with his peers.  He is going to make an incredible big brother. He often talks about swinging his baby sibling, teaching him or her, and what we will need to buy for your baby.

We absolutely love sharing time together! You can find us many a day hiking in our local metro parks, walking to the village for ice cream, playing at the playground, or having a dance party in our kitchen. We also like to visit our library, science center, and have play dates with friends.

Jim works as a solar energy research scientist and is amazing and successful at his job, but Daddy’s first priority is his family. He very much looks forward to coming home to play tickle monster, join us for dinner, and take our nightly family walk. I stay at home with my family and I am my son’s preschool assistant teacher. I whole-heartedly enjoy being a mother. It is the most fulfilling experience of my life. I try to make everything I do involve my son.  I have developed a preschool story time at our local animal shelter so I could volunteer for a cause close to my heart and share the experience with my son. I also enjoy making delicious homemade meals and baked goods for my family as well as crafting and being outdoors.  Jameson enjoys this too and helps me measure flour, roll out homemade tortillas, and has his own craft box with which he makes his creations.

We live in a really wonderful, walkable community with incredible friends and family who are all very excited to share your child with us. Grandma and Grandpa live nearby and more family live within a few hours drive. They are all very excited and waiting for the new member of our family.

When your child returns home with us, I plan on staying home full time just as I did with Jameson. I am so grateful to have the option to stay home with your child and am very much looking forward to getting to know and create a bond with your child. I also believe staying at home provides consistency, security, and confidence that are important in a young child’s development.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about us and considering us as your child’s adoptive family. We are very excited about adding a new member to our family. We would be so grateful and blessed if you were to choose us.

Thankfully yours,
Linda Hernandez and Jim Walker
